It's Valentine's Day! A day of flowers, candy, cards, mushy-gushy talk! A day where guys try their best to show the woman they love (or like) that they really do care! Women love this day because, generally, they are the ones who watch the movies about love and read the books about romance, etc. As little girls they dream of the day when someone will tell them "I love you." Most men do not really care for this day but did you know that God cares about love also? We read in Matthew 22:37 where Jesus is talking and says "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." Jesus wants our love! He is the one that has proven His love to us over and over again. He is the friend from Proverbs 18:24 that "sticketh closer than a brother." He is also the Son in John 3:16 that was given to be the sacrifice so that "whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." By the way, in that same verse God is the one who "so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son." What love Jesus has shown to us! He could have easily asked us to repay Him; but instead all He asks is for our love. On this Valentine's Day make sure that you show your loved ones how much you care! But also on this Valentine's Day, do not forget the one who has trully shown love to you. Our friends, family, and loved ones will at some point in life let us down in even a minor way, but know this Jesus will never let you down! Give your heart to Jesus today and make Him your Valentine every day!
